This has been one of the greatest episodes yet to come. So intense… I’m speechless.
YAY! I loved this episode and how it further delves into Emily’s psychy, while she tries to find solutions to overcome her demons. I just can’t wait for future episodes to answer the many questions I have swirling my mind and what the future holds for Emily Waters.
Loved the end of this one. It was a real “animation stole the show” episode. I think Ep 7 is still my favourite though. I didn’t comment on it before but I thought the douglas/emily interaction in 7 was really well done, and Marissa and Guy did a great job. Their chemestry onscreen makes the show very easy to watch. Very much looking forward to the next installment. Keep up the goodz. : )
Well, you knew she would be revisiting her past at some point, and what a ride it was….you can tell shes very disturbed and has alot of past demons to deal with. The animation with morsus was effin awesome…hes one bad dood. Cant say enough about the animation, very awesome. I wouldn’t say its my favorite episode but its up there
I now know why it took so long to get this episode out, its cus it freaking fantastic, i will admit the series took alittle while for me to “get into it” but now im totally stoked, cant wait for the next episode.
Great job on this one Jes. Loved how young Emily led her through the house, and how Morsus melted into the street to chase her. Can’t wait to see it on the big screen in a few weeks Jes!
I can’t get over the music. It really brought forth the intensity of each scene and draws you into the uncovering of each memory. My heart is still racing from this episode. A lot of great build up to the end of the episode….I was gripping my arm rests lol. Great job, I am truely amazed and have to say this is the best episode yet!
And Erica, I can’t forget you dear. You did such a wonderful job with the animation. I could never put anything into words that can describe your work. Fantastic job!
The cast and crew have definitely stepped up the bar in this one. I am really enjoying where this series is going. Cannot wait until the next one is released.
Fantastic episode guys, this is the one I’ve been waiting for. I’ve been speculating about where Morsus came from, when the answer should have been obvious.
Can’t wait for ep 9.
10 out of 10 on the creepiness factor. I think finding out that Emily’s psyche is turning on her was probably the biggest twist. For much of the series, I was thinking that Morsus was an external threat; someone with a similar power was attacking her.
Marissa’s performance was solid. The downplay of her shock at seeing her younger self said volumes about Emily’s state of mind. Even though she’s capable of visibly manifesting her Other, she’s unwilling to accept that the hallucinations are real.
I guess the only question I would have about it would be the absence of furniture in the house. I understand that it’s vacant now, but there wasn’t any furniture in the house when she was younger, either. It’s a minor point.
Editing, sound, photography, acting, animations…thumbs up across the board.
No I am really pissed that i am not going to New York for this. Oh well, but at the same time it sucks cause it is rocking something hard core now Jesse. It only mad me more confused and wanting more all in a good way.
Wow….I’m at a loss of words that others have not already said. I loved the editing and the music and how the two worked together to make the story more intense. I can understand that Emily is afraid of Morsus, but am anticipating the final showdown….if there is one before she goes insane…..which looks like it might be the next episode I can’t wait to see all these in HD in New York!
This was one hell of an episode! The animation took over in the end, loved it. You make me crave episode 9 even more. To think only 4 episodes are left makes me very sad, but also it makes me realize your project has become very very real.
I loved this episode. I can’t wait for the next one. It never ceases to amaze me how great everyone who helps make this series possible. Keep up the awesome work, guys!
Really fantastic stuff Jes, another amazing episode. The work you, Erica, Marrisa and the rest of the crew are doing is awe-inspiring. All this on my screen for free, and you guys doing it on your own. Fuck yeah.
Jesse, you’ve really outdone yourself again. Erica, you are a master. All you guys need from me is when you need a hot-ass dude onscreen. Even though there’s no Douglas in this one, even I was blown away. It’s a great pivotal episode and fully realized. So excited and I thank everyone for their feedback, great to know how hooked people are on this! It’s the new crack.
You all shocked the crap out of me. I was prepared for what this episode DID. I liked seeing people return, and the actors definitely had to act for that! WOW! Also, Yet again one of my favorite for the camera work. Just WOW.
Every Deserves a Round of Applause, can’t wait for DbP:NYC
Great episode all around. Music, Acting, Story, and AGI (Like CGI but animated not computer generated) were amazing. It FINALLY gives the viewer more insight into Emily’s demons and what she’s dealing with. It’s refreshing to see some of the pieces start to come together as we enter the final stretch. Got to see some new faces (although they got squished) and some old ones. Again great job, lots of story in this one, well worth the wait.
I have enjoyed every episode so far, but this one is my favorite! It caught me completely by surprise, and that is probably what I loved most. Just when I think I know where things are going, you change course and the result is something not expected. That, in my humble opinion, is the mark of a talented storyteller.
Everyone involved in this project has done such a terrific job, and it’s the blending of the actors, director, animator, and musical director that have resulted in such a spellbinding thriller! (that’s my awkward way of saying - Great job everyone!).
Overall I am with everyone else here in that I believe you did a great job on Episode 8. Revisiting is always a very powerful thing to do - and I was surprised that Morsus is a manifestation of her father… as an enemy within herself that makes it very difficult to defeat.
I would like to say that while I can understand that madness can be progressive, be wary that you do not manifest things she hadn’t been experiencing before.. by that I mean her very interactive younger self. Certain progressions make sense but too many strange new leaps can be confusing.
I loved the work you did with the empty house - flashing back to what was there then when in fact it’s all blank now - different angles on the fights made it all the more powerful and added to Emily’s story..
Looking forward to the rest of the series for sure.
Excellent job in picking the music, yet again. I love the intensity that emote the scenes.
Merging the scenes with the past and the present in the house. I love that editing there. It is rare for others to pull it off but you did it.
The story is finally coming together and the anti hero is finally facing her past. It is definately coming together beautifully.
This is definately a kind of creativity that you see out there and you two have pulled it off. I’m so proud of you guys. You guys have worked hard to get it together. Just a few more episodes and a few more sweat and tears and you are almost there. Keep up the good work.
I’ve been following this series since the very beginning, and i’m still lovin’ it, man. As I mentioned, you got nothing to worry about on this one. Keep up the awesome work, dude.
I really like that there doesn’t have to be too much conversation for us to feel what Emily is going through. I’m with everyone else and i too liked emily revisiting her past. This is all so dark and mysterious and it constantly has me wondering what is going to happen next, honestly i think i can say i have no idea.
Music is PERFECT. Erica …*bows* theres really nothing i can ever say to express how brilliant she truely is. as far as you, i know you cant rest until this is completed, but youre really doing something amazing and i love everything ive seen so far, and im SURE ill love the end, you never cease to amaze me. Hang in there
Wow, awesome episode! Was a surprise to me to find out the ‘Morsus is her father’ thing, yet also pretty intriguing - still not entirely sure what’s going on there. I really loved the build up to that too with the voice morphing between the two characters, really pretty creepy Awesome animation again in this episode, and I’m really loving the music and how it helps convey the emotions in scenes.
It was interesting to see some mixed emotions of Emily’s visit to her old house - even with all the bad stuff that had happened in that house, there was still a small glimpse of some good memories of her room and the drawings on the walls.
I was blown away by everything from the acting to the animation to the music. All top notch (particularly loved the music in this one) and I’m thrilled to get more of Emily’s past fleshed out. That’s where this series shines brightest.
I was going to wait till DbPNYC to see this, but wow! Okay where to start. I really like the past an present dynamic going on with the character and the setting. Made me believe in what she was seeing in her surroundings. I was hoping for sort of visual way of making Emily’s past self look a bit more mystical and ghost like, but I see that all her memories (father and mother fights) are real as she wanders the house.
The part with the father and Morsus was perfect. The music, Jesus, the music was right on the money. I don’t think it could have sounded any better.
lol, btw if that happened to me and my family while looking for a house.. Oh man XD!
Wow… this episode was quite intense. The music was great and really set a tone for the action and all of the interactions between the “past” characters and the current. I found myself cursing Jes at the end of the episode just for leaving me hanging. You better get the next one done soon or I will go through the DTs!
What can you say but the reality of the situation is starting to build. I was pulled into this one as we learn who is who and not only understanding that everything starts with her childhood, but how deep the origin is. So now, the pieces of the puzzle are laid out and we have four episodes to see where the ultimate climax will happen. I cannot wait.
This has been one of the greatest episodes yet to come. So intense… I’m speechless.
Amazing job!
I want episode nine NOW!
… please?

I really liked this episode. It delves farther into that twisted brain of Emily’s, and leaves you wanting more. Very well put together.

Great episode, and interestingly done. Definitely kinda makes you go ‘wait, what?’, but very yay indeed

Man, totally intense. Wasn’t expecting to find out what we all found out. Morsus is crazy bad.
Another masterpiece in itself. Great job everyone!
Marissa you do a great job and the supporting cast is wonderful!

I Love this series. Not just because it’s a Jeskid production, but the Creative value, the intricate work, and the labor involved.
Im proud to be in and a part of this series because it is HANDS DOWN going to sweep the world.

That was a crazy awesome episode. Great story and there was great acting.
Now with that said. Can we please have Episode 9?
